Everybody had Matchbox toy cars when I was a kid. We used to play with them, trade them, compare each other’s collections and save our pennies to buy new ones. In particular, I remember having a replica of James Bond's Aston Martin from the movie "Goldfinger". Just like the car in the movie, it had machine guns that popped out of the grill, a bullet proof shield that popped up to shield the rear-view mirror and an ejector passenger seat that really worked. That was one cool toy car. I don't know what happened to it, but I wish I still had it. I was looking online awhile back and I saw that the same Matchbox James Bond Aston Martin that I had as a kid is now selling for considerably more that my parents paid for it. By a factor of ten. But hey, that's what always made playing with Matchbox cars fun. I guess we were all burgeoning collectors back then. We just didn't know it.
The great thing is Matchbox toy cars are still around. They don't sell them in "matchboxes" anymore, but they still have all the variety and collect-ability that they've always had. As always, they are still die cast and have the same attention to detail. In addition, Matchbox now offers other fun toy vehicles too. One of these new offerings, the Matchbox Rocky the Robot Truck, is particularly neat.

The Matchbox Rocky the Robot Truck is also made of high grade, heavy duty plastic, so he's sure to be tough, durable and long lasting. All in all, Rocky the Robot Truck is an excellent toy for any child three years or older.
